Color Fest 2011

Well, we braved the crowds and went to Color Fest this year.  We had SUCH a good time! (Traveling was torture, though!  I can't believe how many people come to this!)

Here are the girls waiting for the shuttle with their bags of colored chalk:

On the shuttle to take us to the Hari Krishna temple (the shuttle on the way back was so crammed full, I couldn't even reach in my pocket to get my camera out).

The girls got started right away:

I can't believe how colorful we all got!
Melynda and I got to go with the girlies.  I was very happy to have her there with us.  She always makes things that much more fun.  :)
Color ... color ... color!  Check out that silly girl in the background of our picture on the left.  haha.

Just about every picture I had of M in action - she is making this face.  hahahahaha.  It really isn't incredibly pleasant to get a handful of chalk in your face and up your nose.  I love Anaka's "all business" look.  :)

Barely recognizable at this point:

Missy's best buds:

Melynda posted a hand print on the back of Marissa's head ... pretty cool looking, eh?

At every odd hour throughout the day there is a 10 second count down ... at which point everyone throws all the rest of their colors up in the air.  It was pretty cool .... and dusty ... and colorful!  We stayed on the outskirts of the crowds, but man - there were a LOT of people - jiving to the live music and body surfing through the swarms of people.  CRAZYLAND!

This was my all time favorite picture!  I love how Sierra and Anaka have these war faces on while they finish up their color chalk - and Marissa is her same ol' "happy go lucky" smiley self.  HAHA!  I just LOVE it.

Here we are:

Cute buds - love these girls!

Thanks for being there with us, M!!  We wouldn't have it any other way.  :)

Bajios for a pre-dinner snack = fun and complete day.

Then, we got to enjoy the Young Women broadcast snuggled up in blankets after hot showers.  What a fabulous day.  Love you, Miss!

Pizza Party!

Can't really say there's much better than a pizza party with good buddies!  Check out these awesome home-made pizzas!  Mmmmmmm Mmmmmmmmm good.

The kiddos had a blast choosing how to create their own personal pan of pizza.  They were all very proud ... and gobbled up every bite!

And then, they kept themselves entertained playing Just Dance ... ALLLLL of them together at once ... with  or without a paddle.   :)  So cute.

What a fun night we had!  We learned the funnest dice game called "Farkle" and haven't stopped playing it since!
Great night with Great friends!

Catch Up

Aaron finished up basketball season.  He had a fabulous time playing.

He was a great team player - and had many awesome assists:
Played some great defense:
And even made a couple of baskets!

Aaron performed at Festival and received a PERFECT score!!  YeeeeHaw!  Way-ta-go, buddy!
On March 7th, Aaron turned 9 years old.  He's growing up so fast, and is such an amazing kid.  We are so blessed to have him in our lives.
He wanted Arbys for his birthday lunch.

And here is Aaron at the "Health and Fitness" Pack Meeting.  It was a lot of fun.  We had contests at different centers to test our physical and mental stamina.  Aaron won the prize for the fastest "Cereal Box Puzzle" time.

                         (Puzzle)                                                                (Sit - Ups)

                           (Hula-Hooping)                                              (The Long Jump)

(Aaron was sore after trying the long jump so many times!  :))            (Jump Roping)

That's our busy, talented, friendly, sweet 9-year-old boy!

Krystal on the Piano

Krystal started piano lessons last month.  She is way into it.  I've tried to start her a couple of times, but I have gotten too frustrated, because she tells me to go away and that she knows what she's doing already (as she smashed random notes up and down the piano).  haha.  But,  she is off to a great start now - and I really think piano just MIGHT tackle her wiggly-ness.  I told her that while she performed this song, she needed to try her best to stay on the bench.  :)  She did pretty darn good - especially considering that I usually have to remind her 1000 times or more during the song.  Love this cute girl!

Going COOL

Midway has these cool ice castle looking sculptures that we walked through one of the nights we were in Midway.  They were DEFINITELY a highlight.  So cool!

I just couldn't get over how much I felt like I was in a cave with stalactites growing everywhere ... except in ice form.  :)

We all enjoyed them ... but we got cold FAST!

Beautiful, eh?

AND ... on our way home, we stopped off at Deer Creek to walk on the frozen lake.  You would never guess that something that simple and free could be such a great hit.  We all thought we were pretty groovy. ;)

Ice skating races!

That is the end of our Midway trip.  Ahhhhh, how I love reliving memories through blogging.  haha.
