Hooray! Summer is Fun!

The kids have so much fun at the pool ... especially when M is there.

Krystal is our brave one - thanks to Hanna's example ... but her bravery consists of small jumps off the edge - and floating on her back :)
Missy Dee and Aar-Bear love every minute.
We're off to California! Unless we find a computer at the condo in San Diego - we will not be around "blog style" for awhile. Love y'all!!

To Do: Laundry --- check

Aaron's job this Summer is laundry - and boy has he learned to do it well! He can do an entire rotation - and needs minimal help folding and putting away the clothes. He has even under-taken the job of showing Krystal how to do laundry. Hooray for good helpers! I hate doing laundry. :)

TAG!!! ----> Michelle's it.

Well, Kristy tagged me, which means I need to come up with 8 things that most people might not know about me .... so, here goes:

  1. I failed college Physical Science TWO times (which is why I'm short a science now) - and, despite my 6+ semesters of straight A's - my cummulative GPA is shot. For those that know me - failing Physical Science is not a huge shock - I really don't have a solid grasp on things ... I'm directionally challenged, I never get jokes, etc, etc. :)

  2. I love playing Taz on the X-Box. In fact, there was a time in my life that I played it several hours a day until I could conquer it. Waste of time ... pathetic? Well - I would do it again in a heartbeat!

  3. I'm hydrophobic ... although, I REALLY try not to be in front of my kids. I'm terrified for the day that my kids will want to boat and water ski ... and it doesn't help that I have a husband who would LIVE under water if he could.

  4. When I was pregnant with Aaron - I thought my water broke in Wal-Mart. Well ... let's just say that my water DIDN'T break! ;)

  5. My cup size is: FUN (according to my husband's candy bar analogy ... King Size, Regular Size, Fun Size). Okay, did I really just share that? Please forgive me.

  6. Despite the fact that I was once a music major, I canNOT have music playing in the background. If music is going, all I am doing is listening to that music - I am not capable of doing anything else. Hence, I VERY rarely, if ever, crank up the tunes.

  7. One year of my life, I was pulled over 3 times for "drunk driving". Obviously, I never drink ... or drink and drive ... which was apparant to the officers when they reached my window. So - all 3 times it was pretty much, "You don't look like you've been drinking." ... "Uuuh, what? No." ... "You're really weaving." ... "I am? Oh." ... "Well, have a nice night." ... "Okay."

  8. I really do drive good and safe ... as long as no music is playing. :) Oh, you didn't know that about me? Well, now you do.

Okay - there you have it. Humiliation and embarrassment flowing over. So ... TAG ---> Dad's IT!! On your mark, get set, GO!

Fireworks for Summerfest!

We had so much fun going to the fireworks LATE Saturday night [we're really feeling it today :)] - We had to walk about a mile from our parking space to where we watched the fireworks - and the fireworks were only about 20 minutes ... so, you know - we spent more time walking, packing, and unpacking then watching! But- the kids loved it - and so did we. Of course, yummy treats and glow sticks never hurt. :)!

I Love Grandpa! He Loves Me! We Are A Happy Family!

Gramps makes every get together so fun - playin' all kinds of fun games with the simple "Catch!" They score all kinds of funny points - play freeze catch - and the ball always gets stuck on him when it lands somewhere funny - like his cheek. What a funny ... and fun ... grandpa Brent!

Tryin' to Be Good

Poor lil' Krystal - she got up late the other morning (just after my Primary meeting had started). She came in briefly to say "hi", then went in to go to the bathroom. I didn't check on her for the remainder of the meeting - about 40 minutes ... then I hear her call "Mom, mommy!" She had shut herself in the bathroom. So, I ran to open the door for her, and found her like this. She had gone potty ... spilled when trying to empty her potty contents into the big toilet ... climbed up to clean up the mess she got on herself ... realized that there was no soap ... and covered herself in lotion. When I walked in, she calmly asked me to turn on the water so she could rinse off all the "soapy". Cute little thing ... but a huge mess.

Anti-Sewing!

Someone in my ward convinced me that these reversible super-hero capes were SO simple - hardly any sewing skills required ... so, I signed up to make 3 for Super Saturday today! Aren't they darling? Well - I am pretty convinced that I will NEVER -in my entire life, mind you - sign up for a sewing project again. They took me FOUR hours - and many swear words (in the church, no less). At one point, I sewed an entire cape completely backwards - COMPLETELY and ENTIRELY - before I realized what I had done. So - sewing is out for me for a long, long. LONG, while - I am DEFINITELY banned from sewing in a church building, because I need to be somewhere that continual profanities are a little more private and not as guilt wrenching. (heehee - oh well). They ARE cute, and the kids love 'em ... which is good, because I am requiring that they wear them 24 hours/day for all the work I put into them!
